Autographed Jefferson Starship Guitar Raises Over $4K for Slick
San Francisco, CA- Jefferson Starship recently played 6 shows at the new Live at the Rrazz venue and raffled an autographed guitar which was generously donated by Fender. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Paul Kantner pulled the winning ticket and personally telephoned the winner, Miguel Mesia of Oakland, to deliver the news and congratulate him.
A few days later, another original member of Jefferson Starship, David Freiberg, personally delivered the prize to Mr. Mesia at his home. Both of these feel-good events were captured on video.
Mr. Mesia, a firefighter by trade, purchased just one $20 raffle ticket. The entire raffle raised over $4k for ailing Jefferson Starship guitarist Slick Aguilar, who has been unable to work since September as he awaits a liver transplant due to complications from Hepatitis C.
Speaking from his home in New Jersey, Slick had this to say, "When I heard what you guys were doing, I just lost it. I am just so blown away by the way everyone is coming together to help me out, my friends and even total strangers. I just can't thank you enough."
We love you, Slick! There's much more love and support to come. TOGETHER we can help our brother Slick survive.
